Meet Dr. Vinayak Ravuri (Seattle, WA)
Vinayak Ravuri, O.D. obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degrees from UC Irvine. He attended Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2015. During optometric training, he worked on a research team studying the visual cortex and how it connects and communicates with other brain areas.
Dr. Ravuri’s professional interests are in ocular surface disease management (dry eyes), diabetic eye disease, specialty contact lenses, medical eye emergencies, and is certified in myopia control (including orthokeratology)
In addition to giving back to the local Capitol Hill/Seattle community, Dr. Ravuri has been on several volunteer optometric mission trips to Jamaica, El Salvador, and Vietnam.
Dr. Ravuri was born in Hyderabad, India, and moved to Ventura, CA, with his family at 8. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoys spending his time away from work hiking, snowshoeing, and snowboarding, attending live music events, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his camera in hand.
