VOSH NW Summer Potluck

Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) is an international optometric philanthropic organization which provides eye care worldwide to populations who can neither afford or access such care.    VOSH NW is the local chapter of VOSH International, whose members (in addition to optometric care internationally and locally) collect donated glasses and gather monthly to verify the lens prescriptions of each set of glasses, and catalogs them for distribution to international populations.  Domestic provision of glasses is provided by donations through frame companies and lens laboratories.  Dr’s. Ravuri and Matsunami volunteer their optometric services domestically at the Uplift NW (formerly Millionair Club) Vision Clinic in Seattle.

A summer potluck gathering was held among VOSH NW members and reunited many colleagues and friends from around the optometric, optical, and business community of Puget Sound.

Pictured on the left are Paul Caletti, former co-owner of NW Northern Optical Labs, and Spectrum Ophthalmics (Paul did the initial practice valuation of BVS in 1982), and Michele Bayle, LDO, who helped BVS grow our optical dept. as our then-optical lead optician in the early 2000’s and now owns Wink Optical in Columbia City.   Pictured in the picture on the right with Dr. Matsunami are Michele Bayle, Dr. Matsunami, and Greg Jones, who owns Snohomish Ophthalmic Services.
