Our Office Team

Meet the experienced and friendly office team members who make Broadway Vision Source the leading provider of vision care products and services in Seattle.

Ken Bursby

Reliable, hard working, and a jack of all trades, Ken has over 13 years of experience in opticianry.  He is proficient at “edging” spectacle lenses using our Santinelli LEX 1000 lens edger to custom fit them into frames, which gives him unique insight into which frames are most appropriate for your lenses, and visa-versa.  In his words:  it’s about “the art of finding that right jewelry for the face.”  Ken is also an excellent resource for frame repairs, and adjustments due to his hands-on approach and craftsmanship.

Ken is a native of California, who – along with his family – enjoy exploring the great Northwest.

Sarah Chac

Approachable, organized, and cheerful, Sarah is excellent at making your experience a pleasant one as one of our Administrative Assistants.   Her work ethic enabled her to attend college while gaining experience in customer service at a part-time job.

She enjoys break dancing, and has been active in the Seattle gaming community.

Sarah attended the Arts and Academics Academy in Seattle, and subsequently earned her Associate in Communications from Seattle Central Community College.

Samantha Johnson

Samantha J.

As one of our key team members, Samantha embraces the passion of providing the excellence in service that you deserve.

She has over 20 years of experience in customer service, 7 of which have been in the optical industry.  ”I bring a vision, a fresh perspective, creativity, innovation and flexibility as well as a variety of approaches and needs to manage and coordinate being an optician.”

Samantha also is a Certified Medical Assistant, and performs preliminary testing, as well as contact lens insertion and removal training.

Samantha is a native of Seattle, is married, and enjoys being the mom of their son and daughter, both of whom she is extremely proud of.

Jessica Kasper

Jessica started at Broadway Vision Source as one of our front desk patient coordinators in 2008, and took over accounts receivables oversight in 2009.  She now handles all insurance billing, and “filters” orders for glasses from our opticians by verifying their accuracy and completion.   Since moving into this position, she has accumulated vast knowledge concerning insurance billing, and is happy to help with insurance billing issues or questions.

Jessica is an Air Force brat who has lived on the east coast and west coast.  She primarily grew up in Spokane, but has lived in Seattle for the past 10 years. She is an avid Seattle and UW sports fan, but has a soft spot for Boston teams, having grown up watching them.

She is a graduate of the University of Washington, where she earned her B.A. in Sociology.

Mary Nguyen

Mary joined BVS in 2019 and is one of the youngest among us.  She has had broad experience as an optometric technician, optician, and administrative assistant at another optometric office in Seattle.  As a Certified Medical Assistant, Mary performs preliminary vision testing and contact lens insertion and removal training.

Her knowledge and engaging interpersonal attributes enable  her to provide informed decisions regarding your vision.

Mary is a Seattle native, and is bilingual in Vietnamese and English.  She is working on attaining her Associate in Finance at Seattle Central Community College, and enjoys bowling, and running.

Faith Poeppel

Faith is the youngest person on our Clinical and Administrative teams.  She graduated from Central Washington University in 2020 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. Originally from the Tri-Cities, she is newer to the Seattle area but has always wanted to live on the West Side. She has empathetic qualities that allow her to perform at the highest rate of her abilities in the health care field. Faith is looking forward to the friendly faces she will meet!

Kaia Pruett, M.A.T.

Kaia taught high school English before starting at Broadway Vision Source. Her teaching skills transfer well to her duties serving patients: she loves the detailed and systematic nature of her work as our Assistant Administrative Coordinator, and values serving the public above all else.

Kaia has always been a strong leader, communicator, and learner. She earned her BA in English with a minor in Linguistics from Western Washington University, and her MA in Teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast. She loves cooking, being outdoors, and reading!

Warren Ruby, L.D.O.

Known as the ‘Wizard of Eyes’ on Capitol Hill, Warren Ruby brings over 30 years of optical and managerial experience to Broadway Vision Source.  He offers unique expertise in selecting the right eye wear for clients based upon their facial shapes, coloring, and style-expression.  “My desire is to help people look and see their very best!  In my experience, it takes another person with an objective eye to compliment the individual’s face with eyeglasses.  Educating your clients as to the particular styles which suit them best is most challenging and exciting to me!”

Prior to joining us in 2010, Warren owned his own optical business in Edmonds, and was District Manager of Lunettes Cartier, USA.

‘The best compliment on my work comes when another person sees my clients in their new eyewear and states: “Where did you get those? They fit you perfectly!”

Warren is a graduate of the University of Washington, and bestows a powerful operatic voice.

Anna Sirianni, C.P.O.T.

After relocating in 2011 from another Vision Source office in Spokane, Anna was originally hired as a Certified Para-Optometric Technician. However, Anna’s strengths in effective interpersonal communications and administrative skills earned her the role as our Administrative Coordinator.  Anna assures that your experience is second to none from the moment you contact us, to the moment you leave.  Anna has been twice selected by her BVS peers as Employee of the Year.

Anna was born and raised in the Chicago-land area and still roots for her Chicago Bears. She and her husband are proud parents, who enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and weight lifting.  Anna also is a certified Medical Assistant.  She will help address your questions and concerns related to your experience at Broadway Vision Source.

John Willard

John W.

John was previously with Furla, then Cole Hahn in downtown Seattle when he decided to switch from high-end shoe and garment sales to optical sales at a nearby optical boutique.  His “eye” for fashion and pleasant demeanor gained him notoriety as he built his client base and moved onward to join BVS in 2010.   John has since excelled in every facet as a frame stylist, from selecting that frame that’s just the right one for you, to providing you easy to understand lens options.

A native of Seattle, John enjoys travel, cooking,  and eating!

John Guild, A.B.O.C.

John 10.2011.2

After 15 years at BVS (the past 3 of which have been spent commuting from Bremerton), John is leaving for another office that is closer to home on the Peninsula.    To those that he worked with, here is a note that he would like to share:

“In bittersweet news, I’ve taken a job in Poulsbo to work closer to home. It’s been a pleasure to serve the many people I’ve come to know over the 15+ years at BVS.  I’ll truly miss those interactions the most!  Thank you for your camaraderie and trust in allowing me to work with you.  Take care and all the best!”
– John G

We’ll miss you too John!
